Not a Drop to Drink!
The Earth is known as “The Water Planet”. Despite this, there are many places where there is water nearby but nothing to drink. Before Thanksgiving, we imagined that all of Earth’s water fit in a 5 gallon bucket. We found out that about 2 cups would be ice and less than a cup would be groundwater. All the lakes and rivers would be a tablespoon!
Explain:
- Why is Earth called the water planet?
- What is groundwater? Why is it important?
- What are some problems with our groundwater supply?

Earth is the water planet because it is the only planet that has actual water and it rains actual water. Besides that the earth is covered by mostly water. Ground water is water people pump from the ground and it is important because it runs inside our faucets and for some people it is also a form of way to generate electricity. Some groundwater today is polluted by chemicals that have been dumped carelessly pollute the water and make unuseable by anyone, there is also the fact that the groundwater gets used up fast.

Well, I think that Earth is called the water planet because, oh I don’t know… maybe because its 75% Water. Just a guess. And groundwater is (surprise!) the water that is in the ground. It is important because it keeps the plants growing and creates fertile soil. The problems with our groundwater is that it can get polluted with bacteria and pollutants such as oil or gasses.

Earth is called the water planet because the earth is mostly made up of water. 70% of the earth is water, the other 30% is land area. Ground water is water beneather the surface of the ground, it is mostly the water above ground that seeped into the soil. Some problems with our groundwater supply is that it can easily get polluted. Trash, and bacteria pollute the groundwater making it not useable.

The earth is called the water planet, because 70% of the earth is covered in water, and the other 30% is land. Ground water is the water beneath the surface of the ground, consisting of mostly surface water that has seeped down. This is the source of springs and wells. Some problems with our groundwater supply is that it can easily get poluted. Trash, and bacteria pollute the groundwater making it not useable.

Ground water is the supply of water that we use in our daily lifes for drinking watering plants. Without ground water we would not exist.
Earth is a water planet because it is made up of more than 75% of water.
Some problems with our ground water supply is that it has bacteria and the supply is decreasing because we are using it up faster than it can be remade.

The earth is called the water planet because it is 70 % water and 30 % land the majority of the planet earth is water. Groundwater is the water beneath the surface of the ground, consisting largely of surface water that has seeped down, and it is important because it is the source of water in springs and wells. One problem that I know of that you can have is we can pump out this water faster than it can be made. So big companies will eventually have not much or not water at all, and we also will not.

I think earth is called the water planet because it is mostly made of water. However most of the water on earth is not clean enough to drink. Some of the water is salt water, some is poluted, and some is just to dirty. Ground water is one source of clean water. It is water that is underground in an auqafer. It is a source of water that we can’t afford to lose. One of the problems with ground water If we use it up to fast we won’t have much left, because ground water is built up water that has been underground for hundreds, and hundreds of years, and if you use it up to fast then we wrong have anymore for a few hundred years.

Earth is called the water plant because it has the most water on any other system that we now. Ground water is under ground that has been freezing over millions of years it is important because we are useing it faster then we can put it back. the problem with your ground water supply it can not come back as fast as we use . The thing we have to wacth outis not to throw your trash in the ground water supply also we are putting sledge and acid also gasilone.

Ground water is the water thats in the ground and it’s important because it’s the only water that you can drink, you can’t drink salt water. The ground water is getting poluted by the swer systems and other polutents in the land.

I think Earth is called the water planet because as far as we know Earth is the only planet with water on it. Groundwater is water underground, why its important is because when people need to make a well if water wasn’t underground how would we make wells. Yes when it rains water goes underground and the dirt will absorb the water but there might now be enough water. Some problems with the underground supply is its not that clean, when the water is underground some chemicals might get into the water witch could make it unsafe to drink.

Ground water- the supply of ground water is very low and people still use it like fools and it takes a lot of time to recover after it has been used.
Ground water is the supply of fresh water that is stored below earths surface, it could range anywhere from 2 to 200 feet below the surface. This water is important because it supplies our wells with veins that run in and help the well’s supply which gives people their water in their homes for their sinks, showers, washing machines, and dishwashers.
Earth is called the water planet because 70 percent of earth is water, most is salt water though. Earth is the only planet that has water, that is why it is called the water planet.

Earth is called the water planet because theres water on it (duh), and I guess people didn’t know other planets had water on it to.
Groundwater is water that is found under ground. It’s important because its fresh and people can drink it.
We are useing up the groundwater to fast and in some places it is becomeing poluted.

Earth is most likely called the water planet because 70% of the earth is water and about 30% is land. Groundwater is fresh water in which we drink, and take showers with. Ground water is important because if it were some how poluted by toxic wastes or organic matter we would have no water, because we would have to turn to the ocean water which we can’t drink. We can’t drink the ocean water because it will make us sick and it also won’t have the nutrients or the firtility for plants unlike groundwater. The groundwater is being poluted little by little from sewer systems and toxic wastes which can be bad.

Its called the water planet because, 70% or 75% is water. The rest is land. Its water in the ground, and it helps the plants grow. The water supply runs out.

Earth is called the water planet because most of the earth is made of water. 70% of the earth is made of water which is more than half. Allof this water is either frozen, salt water, or just regular clear water. Groundwater is water beneath the ground in between saturated soils and rocks. Groundwater is important because it is the water that is supplied to springs and wells. A problem with our groundwater supply is that it can get polluted easliy. Groundwater is used for mostly drinking and for irrigating crops.

Groundwater is found underground by driling a deep hole in the ground. We drink it it is good.

Earth is the water planet because 70% of the earth is water. The water if you do not purify you water you could get fluoride in your stomach and it could really hurt you. Ground Water is water that soaked thought the ground and pooled in holes.Ground water is important we need it to stay alive. It can be poluted by putting trash in the sewers.

Earth is called the water planet because it is the only planet in the Solar System to contain usable water. Some moons have water, but they aren’t planets. Groundwater is the water from precipitation, lakes, rivers, and oceans that seeps through the ground and forms an underground pool of water. This water is important because it is our main supply of water. Most of the problem with our groundwater supply is that people inadvertently cause it to become polluted. This makes it harder to purify the water and wastes more energy.

Earth is called the water planet because over 70% of it is covered in water.
Ground water is water that is found underground. There is a thing called the water table that is a line of water under the ground. If you dig deep enough down and hit the water table you can get a constant supply of water. People use these when digging wells.
Ground water is important to us because we can drink it. With the low amount of drinkable water on earth we need to use every avilable resource.
The problem with ground water though is that there is only a limited supply, and some sorces are not able to be used becuase of polution. If the water table is only four feet under ground and someone happens to dump gas on the ground in that area, it may be soaked into the ground and pollute the water making it unsafe to drink.

Earth is called the water planet, because the earth is mostly water. For example, which would you remember, a section of a pi graph that was 75% blue, or the section that was 25% brown? I don’t know about you but I would think of the blue.
Groundwater is water in the ground! Rocket science! Groundwater is important because groundwater is where we lowly humans get our water supply. “Water the drink of life,” ring any bells? With out water we would be as dead as the dinosaurs.
The problem with grondwater is, though water is a renewable resource it takes 100’s of 1,000’s of years to get back in the ground. We are using more water than is replaced at a rate that is stunning. Also with the chemicals we now “Harness,” we also unleash those chemicals into our most important source of drinking water. Pollution! AAHHHHGGG!!

*People call the Earth the ‘water planet’ because Earth is the planet with the most water located on it.
*Ground water is water that is found under the ground. It is really imporant because it is the water that is less polluted. Groundwater is the cleanest and purest water, and the water that people drink.
*One problem is that there’s not very much of groundwater (but there’s more groundwater than any other fresh water.) If people use it faster than the water can replace itselve then we will have a problem on the supply of fresh ground water. Another problem is that people drop gases and propane on the ground and it sinks deep into the ground and that pollutes the ground water.

Earth is made up of 70 % of water and 30 % of land. Earths fresh water is about 3 % fresh and most of it is frozen or under ground. Ground water is water that you get out of the ground it can either come out of the well or you dig and get it. Ground water is helpful because isf all of our water was frozen we would deppend on the ground water. If their was polution the ground water would not be drink able. Some problems would enclude polution or we are using it up to fast.
